Many thanks to all those who came to our event on February 27th entitled ' How To Set Up An Employees Network'. Speakers from National Grid, PwC and Birmingham LGBT give us an insight into how they set up and maintained a network. Following that we had time to chat informally about our own experiences and how we could support each other in ensuring that our own places of work were supportive of our community. Over 40 people attended, a record in our 5 year history, so we are looking forward to putting on more events in the future.

We are very grateful to National Grid for  sponsoring the event, and to PwC and Birmingham City Council for their ongoing support. And of course to the Loft Lounge who provided us with the Penthouse venue for the evening.

We are in the process of organising our AGM in the next couple of months, so to make sure you are informed of the date, do let us have your contact details. There will also be a couple of vacancies on the committee, so if you are interested in getting involved, do contact us.

If you have any ideas for topics for future events or want to get involved, do get in touch via

'Welcome to our new and evolving website, all part of relaunch of Midlands LGBT Employees Network. After many hours in various smoke-filled rooms, we are pleased to announce the aims for our network:

- supporting and improving the lot of LGBT people with work issues
- helping people perform better by supporting them to be themselves
- providing a ‘safe space’ to share ideas, experiences and concerns
- linking people whatever their occupation, organisation or sector

Connecting LBGT employees across the Midlands, our purpose is to  educate, motivate and inspire.
We aim to provide a forum for discussions and the exchange of ideas about grassroots work issues. We also complement the work of other social and cultural LGBT organisations and professional networks in the region.

Your committee and members are in the process of putting togther an informative website and a re-launch event in late February. Please keep an eye on the website and do send your ideas and views to  This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it
