A NEW MIDLAND NETWORKING GROUP FOR LGBT PROFESSIONALS WORKING IN REAL ESTATE, PROPERTY AND CONSTRUCTION LAUNCHES
OpenLand is a new membership network for lesbian, gay, bisexual and trans professionals working within the Midlands real estate, property and construction sectors.
Formed at the end of April by individuals from leading organisations within the region including Rob Hudson, St. Modwen; Paul Barker; Higgs & Sons, Anthony McCourt, Court Collaboration; Tim Evans, Gowling WLG and Neil Anderson, Millennium Point; the network officially launches with an event in July.
Rob Hudson, co-chair of the new network said:
“OpenLand will provide an inclusive and welcoming environment for LGBT professionals from the sector and region to meet regularly and share experiences and perspectives.”
“This sector has traditionally lagged behind in comparison with others when it comes to recognising and celebrating the achievements of its LGBT professionals.”
“The network will be a place where people can come together in order to share accomplishments, best practice, act as visible role models and inspire individuals, allies and groups to promote diversity and encourage openness and authenticity.’
OpenLand will launch at an event sponsored by KPMG on 13th July featuring Andy Street, Managing Director of John Lewis and the Chair of Greater Birmingham and Solihull LEP who will provide attendees with an overview of John Lewis’ response to the diversity agenda.
