We all aspire to be in a good state of mind, happy and full of positive thoughts all the time. Sometimes, this is hard to do, especially at work. Many employers are engaging more and more with “Wellbeing”, which is great, but what does it actually mean for the LGBT community?
Speakers for this evening include:
Steve Bedser, Birmingham City Council and Cabinet Member for Health and Wellbeing will give the perspective from the point of view of a large organisation and support available to the city.
David Mair is Head of Counselling at the University of Birmingham and runs workshops for LGBT students – he’ll be talking about some of the issues which might inform support employers might give to recent graduates.
Steph Keeble and David Viney from Birmingham LGBT will give an update on the progress of the new Health and Wellbeing Centre in Birmingham.
As usual, we’ll open up to discussion and informal networking (and drinks and nibbles of course – thanks to Irwin Mitchell).
Within the topic of Mental Health and Wellbeing, what areas are you most interested in? What does “wellbeing” mean to you? And how does this match up with your experience at work?
